The night was dark and peaceful, the stars lighting the earth for the eyes to see. Slight wind made the grass rustle and the trees seemed to shiver. Figures moved around in the starlit sky. Eight lay in that small little herd of which we call horses. The stallion was a ebony colored stallion not smaller then 15.3hh. The lead mare was a simple chestnut, almost the color of fire. The others were bays, and other plain colors…except one.
At night she looked like any other horse; black. But when the hot sun would rise into the blue sky and hit the snow colored clouds you would see you were wrong. This mare had ebony stockings that lay upon her iron limbs. They would travel up to forearm. There they would turn into a almost sand color mixed with black. This sand colored covered her whole bodice. On her cranium seemed to lay a black bald face, that was surround by light sand. And to top it off a black dorsal stripe runs along her short back and rump.
Now her figure might be harder to explain without her sounding so perfect. A thick ebony tassel covers each sweet chocolate-colored orbs. Perfectly shaped fuzzy auds perked forward. Thick heavy mane lay ‘pon a massive neck. Ebony kissers tucked into her wide-set chest. Rounded haunches were secured with muscle and power. Thick whip cord would surround her ebony hocks. Iron limbs carried this massive bodice and perfectly shaped hooves followed.
No doubt this figure was a light, but she wasn’t a typical light. She was not one to back off right away, she never wanted to fight or show weakness. She doesn’t have what it takes to be a dark. And a neutral sound crazy to her so she labeled herself as a light. But her cursing you ask is Elegia.
Elegia woke with a sudden jolt. What was it? Then it came again a hard cold wind. This wasn’t ordinary. Elegia let out a small nicker to the others and then turned away from the strong gust. The winds grew stronger and seem to make the trees bow to the figures before them. A shiver ran up Elegia’s spine as she stood there waiting for commands from the leads. But they did nothing but run. Elegia followed the mare at her fast gait. First it was choppy but smoothed out once she gained her footing onto the slick grass. Elegia had no reason to turn her cranium towards the rest of the herd but she couldn’t control herself. Terrified by what she saw she ran faster neck-in-neck with the lead mare. Trees were falling and the rest of the herd members were being crushed by the trees heavy weight. Every time Elegia heard a crack like a tree falling she would run faster, no longer turning her cranium to look.
Iron limbs carried Elegia out of this crazy wind storm. She passed the lead mare long ago at a tree that was to be jumped. That wasn’t her only obstacle. Rocks have fallen and fires were beginning to burn the ground to the earth’s core. Elegia knew she would never see them ever again for they all probably died, but she did know this day would stick with her…forever.
Lungs took in all the air Elegia could as she slowed her bodice to a walk then finally a halt. There were short breaths at first but then the filed out to her normal breathing. Elegia made no attempt to look at the new area she was in all she knew was that it was safe.
